A taproom chair has to look right next to stainless tanks and reclaimed timber, and it has to take a pounding. We keep to designs with proven commercial bones: hardwood frames with stretchers, Windsor-style spindle backs, woven cord seats that breathe, and powder-coated steel stackers for rooms that clear the floor for trivia, live music or private hire.
Choosing between them comes down to how the room runs:
| Chair type | Strength | Stacks? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spindle / Windsor hardwood | Classic, repairable | No | Pub dining, communal tables |
| Woven cord seat | Light, breathable | No | Daytime taprooms, beer gardens under cover |
| Low-arm upholstered | Armchair comfort, pushes under the table | No | Gastropub dining, booth fronts |
| Steel stacking | Lightest, fastest turnover | Yes | Event spaces, flexible halls |
All wood chairs are finished in commercial lacquer that stands up to beer, water and sanitizer, and they ship with replaceable glides. Upholstered seats use commercial vinyl or leather; your own material (COM/COL) is welcome. For dining at standard 30 in tables, chairs have an 18 in (46 cm) seat height. Where the same chair is needed at counter height, ask about a matching stool.
If your floor changes for events, split the order: hardwood chairs for the fixed dining zones and steel stackers for the flexible areas. Both can share upholstery colours, so the room still reads as one. Spare seat pads and glides can be added to the order for quick fixes later.
