Where a booth seats one table, a wall banquette seats a whole side of the room. This run puts a tall, deep-tufted oxblood back along a window wall, capped with a dark wood rail, with a long plain seat that serves several tables in a row. In the photo it faces Windsor-style chairs across a dark pedestal table, with the bar and its brass beer engines behind.
Construction. Built in sections that join on site; hardwood and plywood frames; button-tufted backs on plywood boards; HR foam; leather or contract vinyl; wood top rail and plinth with PU lacquer.
Capacity. A banquette on one side and chairs on the other typically adds seats compared with freestanding booths on the same wall, because there are no end panels or booth backs between tables.
Living with beer. Dark leather, plain seat, recessed plinth: the three things that keep a pub banquette looking good after closing-time spills.
Where it works. Gastropub dining rooms, brewery tap houses with food, and heritage-style beer halls.
Options. Length, back height, tufting pattern, cover, wood finish. Foam specified to CAL TB 117-2013 on request; UK projects toward BS 5852 crib 5.
