The Oxblood Snug Booth is the gastropub booth: a tall, vertical channel-tufted back in deep oxblood upholstery, a dark timber cap along the top, and a recessed plinth with a brass-finish kick rail at the foot.
A high back creates the snug — a semi-private corner that groups book for birthdays and regulars claim on a Friday. It also blocks sightlines and some noise in a big, hard-surfaced room. We build the back up to 59 in (150 cm), with a seat height of 18 in (46 cm) and a seat depth of about 23 in (58 cm), comfortable for a long meal.
The plinth is set back from the seat front, so heels don't scuff the upholstery and mops can reach under the overhang. The kick rail takes the boots that would otherwise wear through the base. The timber cap protects the top of the back from glasses and elbows from the other side.
The booth is made in runs to your wall length, typically from 71 in (180 cm) in 12 in (30 cm) steps, with corner and end sections as needed. Commercial vinyl or leather is recommended.
