The Cooper's Plank Table is the all-timber alternative for rooms where stone would feel too polished: a 2⅜ in (6 cm) solid dark walnut top on two solid timber slab legs, each with a rounded cut-out, joined with exposed brass pins.
It is built the way traditional knock-down furniture was: the pins draw the legs tight to the top, can be re-tightened as the timber settles, and let the table come apart for delivery through a narrow taproom door. The cut-outs lighten the legs and give staff a hand-hold when the table has to move for a band or a private event.
Timber this thick in a beer room needs the right finish. We seal all faces equally and finish in a hard 2K polyurethane or commercial lacquer that resists beer, water and alcohol-based sanitizer. Unlike laminate or stone, a solid top can be sanded and refinished years from now — a useful trait for a table that will collect stories.
The top is fixed through slotted connections so seasonal movement doesn't split it, which matters in breweries where humidity swings with the brewhouse schedule.
