The Hopyard Channel-Back Stool is the comfortable stool for a gastropub bar where guests stay for dinner, not just a pint. A black steel tube frame carries an upholstered seat and a curved back with vertical channel tufting, edged in contrasting cognac piping.
Channel backs are more than a style choice. The vertical channels follow the spine and keep the foam from bunching, so the back stays comfortable after years of use, and the curve wraps slightly around the guest without the bulk of a full tub chair.
The frame uses round steel tube with a wide stance and a full footring in a brass finish. The back is carried on a steel sub-frame, so it doesn't rely on the upholstery for strength when someone pulls the stool out by its back — the most common way bar stools get damaged.
In a taproom we recommend commercial vinyl or leather in place of wool; deep green, oxblood and tobacco tones look right against dark timber and copper. Seat height is set to your bar: 30 in for bar height, 24–26 in for counter.
