The Rail Bar Stool is our standard taproom bar stool: a 30 in (76 cm) seat height for 40–42 in bars, with an upholstered round seat, an oval back on two slim uprights, and a full footring.
The frame is black steel with legs that splay outward toward the floor. Splayed legs widen the footprint, which makes the stool harder to tip when guests lean back or hook a foot on the ring, and a cross stretcher locks the legs together. The footring runs all the way round and its ends are let into the legs rather than clamped on the outside, so it can't slip or rattle loose.
The back is low enough to slide under most bar overhangs, high enough to support the lower back during a long session. A slim gap between back and uprights gives the design a lighter look and gives staff a hand-hold for stacking stools on the bar at close.
We upholster in commercial vinyl or leather for taproom use; the bouclé shown suits hotel bars. A 24 in (61 cm) counter version matches 36 in counters.
