The Bolster-Rail Bench is the lightest way to give guests something to lean on. Instead of a full upholstered back it uses a single round bolster in green leather-look upholstery, held at the rear edge of the seat on two slim black steel posts. Guests get lumbar support; the room keeps its sightlines.
The base is a plain box in wood veneer with a warm medium tone, topped by a padded seat in the same green as the bolster. Because the box runs to the floor, there is nowhere for dropped coasters and crumbs to hide.
Construction. Plywood box with veneer faces and solid edge trim, upholstered seat on a plywood board, and steel posts bolted through the box with backing plates so the bolster can take a full lean. The bolster cover is sewn as a tube and can be removed for replacement.
Where it works. Down the middle of a taproom as a back-to-back divider, against a low wall or window, or in a waiting area by the bar. In beer halls it pairs well with high-top tables where a full booth back would block the view of the tanks.
Length, veneer, seat color and post finish are made to order; longer runs take extra posts.
