The Horn-Back Oak Chair is a compact dining chair with a single sculpted back: one curved timber rail that wraps from one side to the other and ends in rounded tips just past the rear legs. It supports the lower back and lets guests turn sideways to talk without an armrest in the way.
The frame is solid hardwood in a natural pale finish, with straight round legs and a seat rail that carries a padded seat in grey leather-look upholstery. It is small enough to fit four around a 30 in (76 cm) square table.
Construction. Solid wood legs and rails, the back rail shaped from laminated solid timber for strength across the curve, and a seat on a plywood board fixed with screws from below so it can be re-covered. Felt or nylon glides to suit your floor.
Where it works. Brewpub dining areas, food-hall seating around a taproom and high-turnover tables where you need a comfortable chair in a small footprint.
Timber finish and seat covering are made to order; the same chair can be stained walnut or black to match darker rooms, and the seat can be done in fabric.
